She was born April 28, 1933, in Wood County, to Henry Baker and Eva (Wyatt) Haaser-Baker. She married Richard J. Kelbley Nov. 20, 1954, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and he died Feb.
Surviving are six children, Albert J. (Charlene) Kelbley, Dennis (Pamela) Kelbley, Brenda (Kenny) Smith, Marvin K. Kelbley and Ronald G. (Cynthia) Kelbley, all of Fostoria, and Rebecca (Joe) Jaskowiak of Toledo; eight grandchildren, Joseph (Lindsay) Kelbley, Allen Kelbley, Melissa Kelbley, Jessica Kelbley, Andrew Smith, Matthew Smith, Shannon (Steve) Watkins and Nicole (Travis) Beagle; seven great-grandchildren, Shae, Samantha, Shia and Staysha Watkins, Colton Beagle, and Paighton and Kenzington Kelbley; and two sisters, Eleta Strausbaugh of Bowling Green and Phyllis Stearns of Yerma, California.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Larry Kelbley (1966); granddaughter, Margo Smith (1988); and 17 siblings.
Betty was a homemaker and a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. She will be remembered as kind, caring and hardworking. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, dancing and listening to polka and country music.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, where a Christian wake service will begin at 3:45 p.m.
Her Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, with the Rev. Todd Dominique presiding. A rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow the Mass in St. Wendelin Catholic Cemetery, Fostoria. A funeral luncheon will then be served at St. Wendelin parish hall.
Memorials are suggested to St. Wendelin Parish or Bridge Hospice Care.
